Tequila & MezcalSelect from a number of different Mezcal and Tequilas. Both of these spirits are native to Mexico and are produced from the Agave plant in a similar fashion. The Agave plant is grown for at least 8 years before being picked and the core extracted. In the case of Mezcal, these cores are then baked and mashed with a grinder before being fermented with water. Tequila also uses the baked Agave cores but the juice is extracted using compression rather then grinding. This juice is then fermented. Tequila is made specifically from the Blue variety of the Agave plant whereas Mezcal uses a different variety and very often contains a worm that has been added to the drink during the bottling process.
